Frank Selwyn Neusbaum was born on January 8, 1904 in Mt. Union, Pennsylvania. He was a 1926 graduate of Pennsylvania State College with a bachelor of arts degree. During his junior and senior year he was directing and teaching as a part-time staff member of the English Department. The Ephrata Cloister, near Lancaster, Pa., was a religious community of German Seventh Day Baptists founded by Johann Conrad Beissel in 1728.
